Dr. Montserrat Armas Padilla

I'm an Astrophysicist. I am working at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias. My work is focussed on accreting stellar-mass black holes and neutron stars in X-ray binaries. In particular, I am interested in the study of accretion processes at the lowest rate, a regime in which most black holes in the Universe are found, and its connection with the extreme population of ultra-compact systems. I obtained my PhD at the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands). Subsequently, I worked in other international institutions, such as the University of Oxford and the University of Kyoto.
